30 convicted workers rescued from Umerkot farm: Police

On Saturday, Umerkot police raided a farm and rescued 30 slaves.

The farm belongs to a man known as Amir Box Nohrio. The owner kept the laborers in a private prison near Kunri Town.

The farmers were produced in an Umerkot district and session and the court ordered their rescue.

A man named Partab Kohli had applied to the court seeking release of his family members from jail. Kohli accused Nohrio of holding the workers hostage after asking them to pay for grain production. The court then directed the police to take action against the landlords.
